Israel: In view of the current security situation in Israel, the Indian Embassy there issued a new advisory for Indian citizens on Thursday. It says that all Indian citizens should be extremely cautious and not be careless in any way. The Embassy has clearly said that extra caution is necessary until the situation becomes normal.

What things have citizens been advised to follow?

The Embassy has asked Indians to strictly follow all security instructions issued by the Israeli administration and the Home Front Command there. Along with this, it has been advised to avoid non-essential travel. That means it is considered better to postpone traveling to Israel until the situation calms down completely.

Whom can Indian citizens contact in case of emergency?

If any Indian citizen faces any kind of problem, he can contact the 24-hour helpline of the Indian Embassy. Two numbers have been issued for this—

  • 972-54-7520711 and 972-54-3278392.
  • Also people can contact cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in
  •  You can also ask for help by emailing.

This information has been shared by the Indian Embassy through its official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Is the Indian government preparing to evacuate citizens from Iran also?

The situation remains tense in Israel as well as Iran. For this reason, the Government of India has prepared an emergency plan for the safe evacuation of Indian citizens trapped there. However, according to sources, this plan is not being implemented at present, because the current situation is being continuously monitored.

The government says that if the situation worsens, immediate action will be taken.

What advice was given to the Indians present in Iran earlier?

Earlier, the Indian Embassy in Tehran had appealed to students, pilgrims, businessmen, and tourists to leave Iran as soon as possible. They were told to exit the country by available commercial flights or other safe means.

The Embassy had also said that all Indians should always keep their passports and identity-related documents ready and contact the Embassy directly if needed.

What is the overall message of the government?

The Indian government and its embassies are clearly sending the message that the safety of citizens is their first priority. Be it Israel or Iran, the situation in both places is being constantly monitored, and preparations are complete to provide immediate help if needed.
